The “XinFu B&B” locates in the small alley of country roads of Taitung. Covers an area of 3000 footages, surrounded by fields and mountains, as if the buildings are merged into the surroundings, which you can see when driving into the small alley. The greatness of the mountains will not be covered by the small buildings. The white fog moving slowly around the mountains. This beautiful view will wash away all of your negative emotions.

Accompanied by the charming views, the main building has simple natural decoration which will calm travelers’ heart.

The plants in the garden, the romantic vines surrounded the passageways, and the soft wind blowing make it just like a place coming out of poems.

Several lovely houses formed the small community. They shared the same green grasses, blue sky, white clouds, a pond, and every tree which were planted by the hosts. The narrow winding trail will lead the travelers into the comfortable space created by the host of the B&B. She said that the “XinFu B&B” is not only a B&B but also home. She simply wants to bring the simple, clean, and great life to everyone who visits here.

The main building is also where travelers live. The wall on the side of the main entrance posted several certificates. The B&B is not only legitimate but also very friendly. They also have the 3S B&B certificate of SGS which certified the safety, hygiene of the B&B.

From here you can see how the hosts of the B&B are devoted into giving the best to travelers!

The main hall is a big and spacious public space. The simple design will give you a sense of comfortableness. In order to allow natural lights and winds to enter naturally, the hall is surrounded by glasses and French doors.

Inside the house placed solid wooden furniture which can make you feel staid and relax instead of having the feeling of being in an unknown place.

The host of the B&B was making coffee when I entered the house. She invited me to drink a cup of latte which was made by local coffee beans. I just sat there, enjoyed the view and relaxed without having too much thoughts in my mind.

Everything was so enchanting.

At the public space of first floor, they made the space under the stairs as a small playroom for children. It’s not only a space to play but also stored the host’s daughters’ collections and special native products.

Morning, let the birds’ singing and sunshine wake you up.

After a good night’s sleep, I woke up from the warm bed, opened the curtains to let the sunlight shine through and make inside filled with the warmth of the sunlight. Every cell of my body woke up slowly without any effort. This kind of feeling is the purpose of traveling. The moment spent in “XinFu B&B” can make you feel the happiness of traveling in Taitung.

There’s also bed end stool inside the room. Taking space into concern, most B&Bs and hotels won’t have bed end stool. But it can not only let you place your clothes but also you can just sit there and watch TV. Less sitting on the beds can extend the life of beds.

The bathroom is also very spacious. There are sufficient shells for you to put things. I especially like the shell set above the toilet. You can just put your things there without worrying getting wet. The showering SPA is just as good as hotels. With great water pressure, you can enjoy a good bath.

The wash supplies provided is “Cha Tzu Tang” which is Taiwan’s local product. It’s specially picked by the hosts for that they also enjoy using them. The clean and natural fragrance will take all of your tiredness away.

They also provided the famous hand-made soap of Dulan — Zú dù lán. This skin-washing soap is made by the aboriginals using areca palm, kavava and tobacco. You will feel the softness of your skin instead of feeling too dry, which is very comfortable.

Life should go back to the simply happiness.

Morning is the most important time of a day. Every morning, Mrs. Chien will make breakfast for the customers by herself. You can feel the effort she put into every dish. She said that, she will not let the customers eat something that she doesn’t want her children to eat.

It is said that if you can eat 25 different food a day, you will stay healthy. The breakfast in XinFu B&B is combined with: A warm ten grains non-GMO fresh-made soy milk; a fresh salad dish with all kinds of vegetables, Hand-made steamed bread, fresh egg, and seasonal fruits etc. Mrs. Chien insists on providing low-carbon local food. Even the salad dressing is oil-free pumpkin sesame dressing which is made by herself. It is indeed a healthy meal!

It is the effort she put into making meals and the choice of local fresh ingredients that made a great impression in my heart!

Inside the building, you can see the ingenuity of the hosts by the artworks placed around. The host’s children said that their aunts and relatives are fond of creating and collecting artworks.

You can look at the views by sitting in this public space or outside on the stairs, even though it’s noon, I can still feel the soft winds blowing on me. I feel like I can just stay here forever.

Look through the window, you can see the Shemagan Mountain which is also described as “small Mount Fuji”. The appearance of the mountain changes through times of a day is a view I can never get tired of.

I can just easily walk around the garden without worrying about time. Every view is so clean and beautiful which will make you want to stay forever.

XinFu B&B is also a pet friendly B&B. The houses with the painting of hot air balloons which are close to the main door is the house provided for travelers with pets. (No pets on beds)

But also provide breakfast, afternoon tea, dinner and group meals.

The Banana Shrub inside the garden has over 70 years old history, and the May-flower tree next to the main building is 60 years old. Accompanied this family for at least three generations, they didn’t fall after the visits of two typhoons for the past two years.

What is happiness? ~ happiness cannot be given definitions. Sometimes it’s too far to get but sometimes it’s just too close to notice.

But happiness is simple in XinFu B&B. Seeing the whole family making effort for their dreams and life is also a kind a happiness.

Provided a special place for all kinds of travelers. The design inside the house is simple, hospitable, spacious, filled with greens without the stigma of common B&Bs or the commercialism of hotels. They only provide products they like to use to let the customers feel just like they are home.

The hosts aimed to provide a healthy housing which is why they didn’t decorate it with over fancily decorations.

Usually when a house has a lot of beam columns, it also needs to use more materials to decorate. This will make it release more formaldehyde and cause harmed to human bodies. Thus, when at the first stage of planning, Mrs. Chien made all the rooms avoided columns. To make customer sleep well and sound, the spacious rooms are decorated with only ECO friendly paints and solid wooden furniture.

People are afraid of being let down. Thus, we choose to live the same life every day to reduce the risk caused by changing. But if you never step out your first step you will only have the same view for the rest of your life. If you don’t go out, you will not be able to tell your stories and also miss out the chance to create a lot of memorable memories in your life.

Whether a “B&B” is special or not is based on how the hosts welcome travelers. “XinFu B&B” put the idea of a healthy life into practice. They delivered their thoughts of living happily to everyone around them and give them the sense of happiness.
